Constipation Relief Tea
Just a ½ - 1 cup before bed will have you ready to go by morn!

Spanish explorers were introduced to Cascara Sagrada by Native American tribes. The Spanish named the herb Cascara Sagrada or “sacred bark” and used it as a natural laxative. It was admitted to the U.S. Pharmacopoeia in 1877 and is still included as an official medicine. It is said to be one of the best herbs for chronic constipation as it enhances the peristaltic action of the intestines and increases secretions of the stomach, liver, and pancreas. Buckthorn is a well-known and powerful laxative, but it is also helpful for cleansing the liver and gallbladder. It works by stimulating the flow of bile from the liver to the gallbladder. Fennel eliminates toxins from the body, and purifies the blood. It also aids digestion, relieves gas, expels worms, and cleanses the bladder and liver. Marshmallow works as a natural fiber to regulate bowel activity and increase colonic flora. Licorice is used to help heal inflammations of the intestinal tract. Cinnamon soothes the digestive tract and has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial capabilities. Coriander helps in the proper secretion of enzymes and digestive juices in the stomach, thereby stimulating digestion and peristaltic motion. Star Anise also has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties to help with digestion. Ginger is a 'sialagogue,' with elements that promote the flow and secretion of saliva to aid in digestion.
